


Neal Brantley received a BFA degree with a major in painting from Tulane University in 1973, and in 1979. He had his first solo exhibition at Diversity’s Gallery in the New Orleans French Quarter. Brantley was born and raised in Troy, Alabama where he remembers watching his mother, artist Jane Brantley, create expressive watercolors. Later Neal took his first formal art lesson at age 16 from Troy State faculty member Alice Thornton. Afterwards he attended Auburn University and then Tulane. Neal has been an artist for 41 years and prefers the medium of oil. Presently he enjoys painting cityscapes. Artists that influence his work are Georgia O’ Keeffe, Edward Hopper and Roger Brown
