Keith Smith born:1953 Honolulu Hawaii. Moved to Alabama in 1974. Raised in a tropical environment rich in colorful flora and fauna set the direction of my artwork. Alabama has also played a role. Bright colors, fanciful characters and situations feel natural along with having fun in the process of creating. Recycled weathered roofing tin or old wood predominate for several reasons. Foremost, the paint bonds well to the tooth of rusted panels. Secondly, the purpose of cleaning the environment is well served. Lastly, the material costs are right, meaning that it's usually free !! How good is that?
